OpenFOAM Stammtisch

The OpenFOAM Stammtisch is an annual, informal networking event for OpenFOAM users and CFD enthusiasts, hosted on-site at NHR-Nord@Göttingen (RZGö). It is aimed primarily at OpenFOAM/CFD community based in Germany and is jointly organized with WIKKI GmbH and offers a platform for exchange between academia, industry, and the wider OpenFOAM community. Our aim with this event is to

• bring together OpenFOAM users and developers from science and industry,
• provide a relaxed setting for informal exchange and networking,
• share technical talks on real-world CFD applications and HPC usage,
• and connect job seekers with potential employers in the field.

The Stammtisch usually starts the evening before with an informal, self-paid dinner for networking. The main day begins with coffee and welcoming remarks, followed by technical presentations from the community on current OpenFOAM/CFD applications and use cases. A guided tour of the HPC cluster is also part of the program.

In addition to regular talks, the workshop offers two distinct session formats:

• Bring Your Problem: Participants briefly present a modeling or performance challenge they are facing, and the group brainstorms solutions together.
• Find Your Employer: A speed-dating style session connecting job seekers with company representatives.
