Computer Museum The GWDG has a small collection of computing aids, computers and peripheral devices. The focus of the presentation is on the technological development of computer technology in order to promote an understanding of modern high-performance systems. This is done using selected computer components from early computer systems as examples.
Most of the exhibits are currently in storage. However, a small selection of objects will be on display again in the GWDG foyer in the future. They can be viewed during GWDG opening hours. The GWDG currently no longer offers guided tours of the collection. The GWDG’s Computer Museum is also represented in the University of Göttingen’s collection portal, which reflects the diversity of Göttingen’s collection landscape that can be seen in the Forum Wissen.
The computer museum of the GWDG is also represented in the collection portal of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, which reflects the variety of Göttingen’s collection landscape, which will be on display in the Forum Wissen in the future.
